Paula Goldman

Lives and works in the Los Angeles metropolitan area.

I am fascinated by the power of photographs. My work has always involved the photographic moment—that moment when an image is irrevocably removed from its original time and space—and how that affects our perception of that image.

My work explores the role of photography in memorializing artifacts, blurs the line between popular forms of collecting and institutional archives, and plays with the narratives created by the arbitrary juxtapositions of images.
